2024 Ram 1500 Sport (Loaded) bought October 2024 because I wanted a newer truck but more because I wanted one of the remaining HEMIS.

Within first month needed the HVAC diversion flap replaced because it wouldn’t blow air up the windshield. Entire dash taken out to find it was installed with a broken gear. Repaired under warranty. Fine, things happen.

Fast forward to May 2025. 6600km on the truck and my battery saver mode comes on. 10 minutes later I’m dead at side of road. Called Mopar road assistance and asked it to be towed to my local dealer 50km away. Wouldn’t do that because under warranty they would tow it up to 35km to the nearest dealer but do nothing for us who would be 1hr from our home. Thanks for nothin MOPAR. Called CAA and they looked after us.

Dealer did a scan and it turns out I needed a newer e torque alternator after 6600km but worse, they take 3-4weeks to get. Dealer set me up with a loaner vehicle. Great service from the dealer.

4 weeks go by and I get an update. Alternator arrived and installed BUT another code. This time it needed a new Hybrid battery pack and they have NO ETA for when part will be in. They are frustrated and mentioned ordering directly from Chrysler Canada because of delays.

BUT IT IS NOW OVER 8 weeks and it sits in the dealers lot awaiting parts.

Is there not any reprocussions when a new truck is out of service for 1/6 year awaiting parts. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE RAM.

Rant over (for now)

I have heard of this happening with GM and Ford as well , guess no one is making spare parts anymore?
GM motors on the newer stuff is a disaster.
Ford its the trans I think.

Funny thing , I do not ever remember walking with my older stuff, as long as I had gas. carried tools and small parts. Now I look at the dipstick and in the rad sometimes. Then close the hood.

Known issue sorry to hear everytime we hear it. Ram cant honor their warranty on e torque because too many of them fail and they have zero supply chain capabilities. Find a way to sue them.

Looks like the 2026 1500 Hemi will only come one way - with e-torque. So hopefully RAM will do something to fix the parts supply problem to keep them on the road. Hope springs eternal.

Hopefully but I’m not convinced. I got towed April 29th and got my truck back Sept 3rd.
OVER 3 MONTHS.
That tells me it’s still a huge issue

Plus the fact ram hasn't said why this is happening. Not being prepared for these fails is one thing, but how or why should anyone ever trust an torque hemi if they cant get the torque portion right? This so called "mild" hybrid should not be this complicated. Anyone who buys an torque at this point, I got nothing for ya. I certainly hope it works out for you, but hope isn't a strategy. Jeep dropped etorque, it should have alerted people this stuff needs to be gone baby gone.

Wow, 3 freakin' months, that is horrible. Please keep us posted. I wish you the best of luck with it, and hope you bought an extended warranty.........

55k on my 22 eTorque and ,knocking on wood while I say, no issues yet. I’m not here to say it’s a great system but I don’t really have anything against it either. The parts available issue is a huge failure on Ram though. On my 3rd Ram now. May be my last if they don’t clean up their supply chain failures.

Agree with you.
Had my last Laramie for 10 years and loved the Hemi.
Needed a new truck so either I opted for a ‘25 with the Hurricane or a 24 with the Hemi e torque.
Didn’t want to be a first year Ginny pig for the Hurricane so leaned towards the Hemi.
I absolutely love the truck otherwise

Sad part is our local Ram dealer is absolutely fantastic to deal with but this was out of their hands. They set me up with a Jeep Wrangler which atleast was a fun vehicle for the summer.
They were as frustrated as me which makes it tough on dealers when the manufacturer is this screwed up.

Starting in 2025, the Hurricane will go down as by far the most reliable engine setup. The longer they're here, the better they'll be looked at.

Drove one and was very impressed. More kick than the Hemi and apparently better mileage, just don’t like first year anything.
Might be trading my 24 Hemi in a few years

I think you should be looking into an arbitration case and work towards a buy back. CANVAP I think it is called. You will need all your paperwork and a well organized narrative. It is ridiculous that anyone's "new" vehicle should need to sit idle on a dealer's lot for months. The very least that should happen is a warranty extension to compensate for the idle time. Then there should be compensation for vehicle payments on an unusable vehicle.

Welcome to etorque. My 2020 Hemi MGU started making noise around 43K miles. Dealer properly diagnosed it and ordered a new one. Covered under the 8yr/80,000 emissions warranty so I can’t complain. Took 5 weeks to get the part. I continued to drive the truck sparingly in the meantime. Parts department said this is paar for the course. Unfortunately those are manufactured in Italy. All the Bally-hoo over tariffs and imports probably doesn’t help. As someone else noted, the dealership was fine but unfortunately they are left holding the bag and on the receiving end of the customer’s wrath. At the dealer’s suggestion I filed a complaint with the Ram Care line and the part showed up 2 days later.

From what I understand it’s not straight forward as the starter is somehow tied into the hybrid battery pack for the auto start/stop and hybrid.
The MGU is responsible for the start in S/S mode not the traditional starter which is 12v pulling it’s power from the traditional 12v battery. The MGU produces 48v when it’s in generator mode to feed the battery pack so it needs 48v in return when it’s in starter mode. The 12v battery is charged through the battery pack not directly from the MGU. Don’t see a mod being developed to bypass this system.
