Newb!

Hello all, I just picked up a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 SLT Laramie 5.9L EX-Cab SB with 110,000 Miles a couple weeks ago. I bought it from a private owner who seems he took care pretty good care of it from new.

I guess the only real problem so far is the rust under the doors / front fenders that needs some attention.

Other than that, she's pretty nice.







I bought this vehicle as my DD / tow rig to help my Jeep out when it breaks down

Welcome to the forum. Nice to see another 2nd gen hangin around. Nice jeep to btw. The rust is pretty common on us 2nd gens. Looks good though from the pics.

Thanks guys. I actually have some LT/E 305/70R16 (33x12.50) Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's in the garage waiting to be mounted on her. I just started school again so cash is tight with the plans I wanted to start with it. Main thing I need out of this truck is towing ability (POWER/BREAKING). Looking into a nice exhaust that performs. I would be glad to hear from anyone that has any suggestions!

Bigtman07: What kind of leveling kit do you have? Are you happy with it would you recommend it? I'm interested in doing something like that.

I am actually really happy with it. I have a 2 1/2 level from Zone off road. Pretty easy to install. I do suggest though a strut compressor to help get it in. I could only get my axle to drop so far. So I just compressed the spring to get it in there. Cost me about 100 bucks to do.

Those wheels sound nice and meaty. As far as towing goes. Check your plenum gasket that is notorious to blow on our engines. Throw a tuner at it and a trailer brake system and you'll be off to a great start. If ya have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
