Hello, actually I’m also a newbie to the site as well. I just bought a 2014 Ram 1500 Express 5.7 HEMI. I bought a JVC KW-M740BT Head unit and figured I may as well overhaul the whole audio system while I’m in there. Any recommendations for speakers/subs/amps? I am currently thinking this and would love suggestions.

Speakers - KICKER 43CSC6934 in the front and rear doors (quad cab)
Subs - I’m not exactly sure where to go with a $250 price range.
Amp - KICKER 43CXA6001

Thanks for any help, I’m excited to be a new member of the site!

I would recommend the Kenwood x801-5 5 channel amp. There is a Dyno test on this amp and it exceeds all rated output and is very compact

For subs, anything rated for 300-500 watts with good reviews should do the trick. I would get 4ohm dual voice coil versions. This will allow you to create a 2 ohm load and get the most power from the amp.

I don't know which door speakers work best with these trucks though.

Remember the subs will need to work with the box you are getting. Some(actually most) have limited depth and airspace. I have a homemade fiberglass box, is deeper etc than most wood type and still I have to be careful. Add some butyl sound deadening while your at it, to the doors and a single layer of closed cell foam(self sticking) on back of door plastic panel makes all rattles go away.

I’ve found the JBL Club series speakers sound great with the oem head unit. They work great running of the head unit, but can handle an amp also. So they would be great to put in the dash and all four doors and run off the head unit. If you want more out of them you can add an amp to them later.
