hello all. andy here with some issues with my work truck. 2008 ram 2500 big horn with 6.7 cummins. thx in advance. dash lights on include check engine, etc blinking, fuel filter. boss complained driveability problems, found the bottom 2 wires on egr connector chewed by rodent. repaired them. replaced batteries (one was bad) replaced fuel filter, air filter, changed oil and filter. etc light still blinking, other warning lights still on. when throttle pedal depressed no reaction at first, then erratic. eratic voltage reading. i do not have a code scanner at present. also found another bad wire (see pic). can anyone ID this wire? sorry so long. thanks, andy

I can't help you with what wire that is but can suggest if the wire is chewed off even with the plug, (looks like it might be) I would just jumper around that big connector. I feel your pain i had this issue few years ago with a NEW Honda car, i was furious. Also the lights will probably keep this up until you find and fix all of the chewed wires.

When i first heard of those engines, (teenager loving cars and mechanic work) I though no way, when i first got to see one few years later, i thought that was one of the coolest most unique things! Also heard they were indestructible per say, ran forever also.

update. jumpered the purple broken wire and the etc light has gone out and throttle responds normally.

Thats great news! Thanks for the update. If the check engine light is on still , could be something unrelated or just hasn't gone off yet if related. With that light, it will be on as long as a problem persists. Will go out on its on if problem goes away, but will take few days sometimes. Or you can clear it with a code reader.
