2011 1500 5.7 4x4, 226k miles, I bought it cheap as is. Short version: abs sensor was allegedly bad, replaced it and nothing changed. What now.

Long version; ABS, brake, traction control and service 4wd lights on the dash. Scanned abs module with Alfaobd, got 6 codes, 4 of which were labeled “temporary” and “error warning lamp not requested.” The other 2 are as follows:

C100A Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
Test complete or not applicable
Error present
Error warning lamp 'ON' requested

C1011
Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Erratic Performance
Test not complete
Error temporary
Error warning lamp 'ON' requested

I replaced the left front sensor with one from an old hub off my 2009. The hub was replaced because of a bad bearing and the sensor was working fine when removed. Cycled the key, drove it a bit, let it go through a few startups, touched battery cables together etc. Nothing changed, all lights still there, all the same codes in the abs. Cleared the codes, and the C100A immediately returned, drove it around a bit and no others returned. All warning lights still on in the dash.

Checked the wiring from the connector behind the fender liner up until it joins into a bigger harness, and found the previous owner had covered it in electrical tape, but after removing it I found no damage to the wires, no signs of splicing etc.

One more thing, it does have 2013+ wheels on it, which have different tpms sensors that the truck can’t read. Is it possible that’s not allowing the wheel speed sensor to relearn? I may put a wheel with a known working 09-12 sensor on the front left to rule that out.

I did have almost the same issue on my 2011 Ram 5.7 Hemi a couple days ago.

In my case, it was for rear wheels but the function still the same. First, I'm not an expert in Ram trucks but by checking I did can answer some points of your issue.

Before explaining a possible way to check your problem, sensors on these truck for this year a Magneto-resistive type sensors. So, most of the time, they got 3 wires, a ground, a power and a signal.
On my sensors, the connectors have 2 pins (power and signal). The ground pass through the bolt. So, it is why it's important to keep the bolt clean to make a good ground for sensors.
It is the same rear or front sensors.
I did got same error code except for c100A.

In my case , the tone ring did have broken theet that cause erratic performance error code.

To check the wires of the sensor, take a multimeter to one of the pin coming from the abs module in the sensor connector and the ground to chassis ground.
Put the ignition to ON and check if you have the battery voltage to one of the pin and an impedance other than OL or 0 ohm ( around 450 ohms) to the other pin. If so, you have probably good wires. If not, you got an issue in the cable or module.

For your TPMS sensors, they are not related to the abs problem. TPMS use wireless communication with a receiver. So it doesn't interfere with abs system.

Hope that will help you in some way.

Regards

Guess I never updated this, ended up being the wires shorting together. Wires were partially stripped all the way to the abs module (or maybe tipm, don’t remember it’s been a while), replaced that and all good.

This site was extremely helpful in troubleshooting, although turns out all I needed to do was check the wires better: https://charm.li/Dodge or Ram Truck...osis/A L L Diagnostic Trouble Codes ( DTC )/

Abs light on. Scanner says "sensor" . How do i know which sensor? 2002 Ram 1500 4.7 V8. 55,000 miles seems like there is a sppeed sensor everywhere except a/c vent.

Abs light on exclusively? For a wheel speed sensor normally you’ll have traction control, abs, serv 4wd lights. What code does the scanner read?

If you scanner doesn’t even give you a code you need a better scanner. But speedo not working is more then just a wheel speed sensor, I can’t help you there
