So I have been thinking about putting a 75 or 100 shot on my truck. what's the cheapest safest way to do it? I read somewhere not to buy the kit. there is a guy locally that has a kiT of a 350z that I could get pretty cheap is it worth it for the solenoids and bottle

If you have a spare 5.7 engine lying around then you should go for it.

I'm just kidding.
To an extent.

To spray when you still have a stock tranny and rear end (just to name a few of the many things you would have to beef up before you put extreme strain on them) is just asking for something to snap, pop, twist...

Beef up before to you use some spray.

on my dads 2000 camaro z28 he had a 150 shot and had no tranny problems or engine problems at all. and he didnt have anything aftermarket for a while after his spray... idk if that goes the same for a hemi, but i dont see why not lol
after my cam in about a month im gonna get a kit myself!

Nitrous can be alot of fun as long as you do it right. Most failures due to nitrous are from guys not using it correctly. You want to make sure that you start off with a complete quality wet kit, and it is necessary to run colder plugs, a bottle heater, and have a nitrous gauge to check pressure. The bottle heater is going to make sure that you are spraying the correct amount of nitrous for the fuel jet you are using. Without heat, you will never build enough pressure in the bottle to make it run right. If you want the most out of your system you can add a purge kit, but it is not 100% necessary. Below is our Brand X nitrous kit which is very affordable...

Brand X 4.7/5.7 EFI Hemi Truck EFI Single Nozzle System (45psi)

These are the plugs you would need...

NGK V-Power 4306 Spark Plugs for 5.7L Hemi - 1 Step Colder

As for the bottle heater and purge kit, this is going to depend on what you are doing with the truck. Many dragstrips require that you have a safety blowdown tube and a fuel pressure safety switch. If you need these, then it is cheaper to buy a complete accessories kit...stage 1 includes an automatically controlled wrap around style bottle heater, fuel Pressure Safety Switch, white face nitrous pressure gauge, and a blow down tube. Stage 2 includes all of the above plus the purge kit...

Brand X Stage 1 Accessory Package for 4AN Systems

Brand X Stage 2 Accessory Package for 4AN Systems

I ran nitrous on my 03 for about 4 years, so let me know if you have any questions about it.

Use a wet kit. One step colder plug. Use a purge kit. Its just a saftey to make sure that when you hit the Go Baby Go button its all nitrous and not some condensation or air in the line. Use a window switch aswell. Might want to upgrade the fuel pump as well to keep up with the hit.

Even on a small hit like that should he still pull a few degrees of timing or will it still be in a safe zone?

If it was me i would adjust the timing accordingly then go from there. Basicly set it up then do a run with it. Then shut off as soon as the pass is done. Best way to read the plugs is to make your pass and shut it down right after the line. NO idleing or throttle or anything. That will give you the best reading on the plug.

I never ran a separate window switch with my nitrous kits. The switch that is included in the kits is run off your throttle position sensor to ensure that the nitrous is only activated at WOT. As soon as you take your foot off the pedal, the nitrous will shut off whether the nitrous switch is on or off.

I used to run up a 75 shot on the Superchips 91 tune with NGK 4306 plugs and never had any issues. When I was running the 125 shot, I backed the tune off to the 87 tune just to be safe.

So I run a 9.6 on the 1/8 mile now with 355 gears if I put my 392 gears in and a 100 shot what do you think it would do
And win I get my gears installed is there anything else I should have done?

Do you have a limited slip in the rear? If notm you are never going to get he tires to hook. Also, you will not be able to stick a 100 shot without drag radials.

With traction, you should see mid 8's.

An upgraded stall converter and Sharadon valvebody will really help bring that thing to life. The converter is going to help you use every bit of tq you gain from the nitrous, and the fast shifts from the valvebody will prevent the clutches from slipping under all the extra power. These transmission mods are not 100% necesary, but they will show a night and day difference in performance, especially with the nitrous.

I have had a good amount of interest in both of these mods recently, so I will be adding a package deal to the site to help everyone save some money when buying these mods together. I will post a link in the Moe's forum as soon as I get the package added to the site.

Wish lists give us goals and reasons to keep doing what we do. Let me know if you have any questions about the parts you were looking at on the site.

Each converter its built for your truck, so with that cam, we would probably set you up with a 2800-3000 stall. The 268 if going to require custom tubing with your Diablo.

I would let hemifever tune it. He is a sponsor here and has tuned many 268 equipped trucks. And the converter will work fine even with the stock cam.
