No blind spot alert with trailer

I thought Blindspot alert with trailer with standard equipment.
The truck has surround view, and I have not yet installed the trailer camera, does that have anything to do with it?
Also is there a way to install the trailer camera and connected to the surround view?
I rely on that Blindspot alert, and since the surround view doesn’t activate with the turn signal I am quite disappointed

There anyway to add that, I suppose not.

Damn those salesman, he knew I was towing that was the whole purpose of getting this truck I asked about this

On my 2019 BigHorn with 12 inch screen and multiple cameras I remember reading the option list saying blind spot "truck only". The designers sure don't seem to be trailer haulers.

Sorry, I have no idea. I bought a camera and mounted it on rear of trailer and ran wires to transmitter in pass through storage. I didn't want another screen on dash so this one fits over rear view mirror and only turns on when trailer is in range. It's a compromise but it works for me.

Is there anyway to have this feature added to my 2019? I find it annoying that every time I start the vehicle it reminds me that I don’t have it because it broadcast in a note with his chime

I'll be "that guy" ..learn to use your mirrors while towing instead of relying on some electronic sensor. Mirrors don't lie but sensors can be wrong. If you do hit someone do think law enforcement is going to care if you say the blind spot monitoring didn't warn you, nope they'll still write you for not being in control of your vehicle.

I agree with you. I use my mirrors, it’s nice to have a second level of safety

I used AlfaOBD to add the option to my 2019 Tradesman with blind spot monitoring, so far all it did was add the option to the uconnect menu, but it doesn't allow me to select a trailer length or anything. Will post if i make any further progress.

My guess is ram didnt use sensors capable of doing trailers in the 19s. If you can get tag trailer added you'll probably need to use the sensors out of a 2020.
