I just put in a a new battery in my 09 Ram 1500. Once I connected the connectors to the post the dome lights came on, so I went to start it and I heard a pop and now there is no power at all. No lights, no dash indicators... nothing. WTH?

Did you check your fuses? Pop could have been a fuse blowing. I wouldn't connect that battery again without having it (the battery) checked out.

Sounds like you either hooked the battery up backwards or bought an incorrect battery that had the polarity reversed. Either way, sounds like a high amp main fuse blew.

Interior light would not care about polarity as it probably was an incandescent bulb. Soon as you went to start, you shorted to ground through the start relay.

Lastly, do not be a one post wonder and let us know what you find out.
