I recently had the valve body replaced. Now I noticed I have no reverse lights. Is there a plug on the valve body for the reverse lights?

So, gonna ask the obvious since it is not mentioned, did you check the bulbs?
Was the trans removed for this service?
What year and do you have a manual shifter or rotary knob?
Have you checked wiring underneath?
Since the reverse lights are tied to the shift selector, I would probably start with the shop that did the work.

I will reach out to my brother-in-law. He builds trannys. He may have some insight.

Ok! Did some more testing. I tracked the reverse lights wire to the bottom of the TIPM. No power coming out. So I tried jumping a 12 volt tester from the positive to that wire. The light came on. So that would tell me that wire is grounded some where. Correct? Now if one of those plugs in the tranny isn’t connected, would that cause a ground?? Thanks for your reply!

If the reverse bulbs are installed, the 12V going through the test light is finding a ground through the bulbs. If there was a ground a fuse should blow.

Ok... So then if I would take out the reverse light bulbs and do that same test with the 12 volt tester, the test light shouldn’t go on. Is that correct? There is a fuse for the b/u lights but not blown. Thanks for all the input. I need all the help I can get!!!!

Ok guys... I took the reverse bulbs out and tried the same test. With jumping a 12 volt tester with one side on positive and the other in the reverse light wire coming off the bottom of the TIPM. The test light did NOT go on. Again no power coming out of the TIPM on that wire. And fuse is not blown. I had the valve body replaced and was wondering if the plug for the reverse pressure switch was not connected, could this be the problem? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

I wonder if you would be able to use AlfaOBD for diagnostics to see if the TIPM can turn the reverse lights on and is getting the signal from the transmission controller for the reverse lights???
I know there is a bunch of diagnostic stuff for the '13 and later Ram's but not sure what's available for the '12 trucks

The TIPM is what controls the power going to the lights, you need to figure out if the TIPM is even getting the signal to turn the reverse lights on. If it does get the signal then the TIPM is the problem.
Whatever turns on the reverse lights, does so through the TIPM so that why there is no power coming out

Ok... That’s one thing not in my toolbox. An AlfaOBD. Does a Dodge dealer have that in their service dept.?

If the solenoid block on the transmission is bad, could that be the problem and can that be tested? Again.... THANKS MUCH!
