Hello, this is my first post, just joined in order to get some insight into an issue I am currently having. I apologize if this post is in the incorrect area.
I recently had a blown head gasket. Took it to a trusted mechanic. One completely new head, the other was machined. Once in, he put all new plugs, fixed some cam wiring, new exhaust bolts (was leaking), new thermo, etc. I replaced the fuel pump last April after it went out.
Truck ran awesome after the head job, no problems for a little over a week. Got in it yesterday and I'd didn't want to start. It cranked real nicely but wouldn't fire. Battery is good. No codes being thrown. All gas is bought at QuikTrip. Tried to start a second time and gave it a lot of gas and barely caught it when it fired, but it stayed running. No rough idle, no rough driving. Drives great.
Started it later on a few time and it fired right up. Started it later and it didn't want to go again, just cranked and might have even fired once but didn't start. Same thing as before, gave it a second go and barely got it started.
So it has been off and on the past couple of days. I'm worried about being stranded somewhere now.
I can hear the fuel pump buzzing when I turn the key to the on position if I listen near the wheel well.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
