No Start

2016 Ram 1500, 3.6 l engine. 104,000 km. Truck ran fine previous day. Tried to start in the morning...Nothing. Door locks worked, interior light on, Lights flashed when unlock and lock. Only message on instrument cluster was that there was a door opened(drivers), later opened all doors and instrument cluster showed all open.

One mechanic suggested removing connections to battery and holding the pos and neg together for 15 to 60 seconds then reconnect and let stand for 15-20 minutes.

Inserted key and guess what.......everything worked!

I’m having same issue now. Battery 100%, but no accessories or gages/instrument cluster, and no start. Seems to be intermittent, as I’ve got it to go a few times after inserting fob many times. It’s like it’s not recognizing a key is in it all all. I’ve tried with insertable 2-button fob and spare key (non-fob).

Update: problem ended up being a bad ignition switch (only 3 yrs old and 28k miles, so something to watch for). Makes sense with symptoms that add up to system seemed unaware of a key being in the ignition at all (both fob and metal key). Had major issues trying to get vehicle towed, as you couldn’t use electronic shift knob into neutral. Check user manual and YouTube for emergency release located behind panel below headlight selector knob. That knowledge would have saved me so much trouble.

My fob (s) some times won't start my (2012) Turn to start and nothing happens. I mean NOTHING no dash,buzzers etc. Fobs both have new battery's. I checked the old one out of curiosity to see if dead. They were OK but still put in new. I've been on You-tube the guys say this is happening a lot. but no one has a reason why or how to fix.
My dealer has neve heard of this issue. Any One Have info??

Well I have good news AND Bad news on this issue. After being at dealer 3 times with this issue. They said never heard of this or could duplicate. (of course Not)
Finally they did what they said was a PIN test. And guess WHAT ,there was some that were bad.
They replace the whole ignition an 2 new keys. So far all is good..Now for the BAD NEWS.. $800.00 . Still cheap enough from being stranded during a blizzard.​
