not charging

have a 1980 Power Wagon, that is not charging. the alternator is putting out 14.2 volts and the battery is new.
Can anyone suggest where the problem lies?

Having you installed any new accessories lately like a radio or alarm?

have you tested the voltage regulator? you'll need a multimeter and a helper.

fully charge your battery with a plug in charger before you start.
