..sort of.

Installed belltech's 2/4 drop a few days ago with street performance shocks. Also installed Helwigs front and rear sway bars and Spohns adjustable panhard bar.

I cut a half coil up front and a full coil out back.

Looks excellent.

My issue is my front tire on drivers side rubs inner fender when I hit hard bumps. Now that may be LA county ****** roads, but it sucks either way. This isn't my first drop, do I know I did it right. And I know I didn't take off too much coil, I'm positive this would happen even if I didn't cut it. I did shave some off my rear bump stops but none off the front.

So tell me what you guys think.

I'll post pictures later.

Thanks.

EDIT: someone recently posted on the forum something about these street performance shocks being too soft, I think that may be the issue. Thought?

A stiff shock would certainly help with this. But it'll also make your ride harsh.

Wish i could help, I did mine and it rubbed on small bumps. However I cut way to much in front (1 full coil) and ended up buying a 1" spacer for the front to bring it back up. Now I only rub on very hard bumps, but i can deal with that as its not all the time and I am more cognoscente of the road. I would agree that the stiffer shock option will most likely eliminate most of it but you still could rub on very hard drops, as we all took our kit past what its designed for(2/4). Just a 2cent thought

Shocks won't fix it. Sounds like the tire is too tall for the amount you dropped it. That's what I'm trying to decide now, how much to drop mine. I have a 305/45/22 and I don't want it to rub but I don't want a smaller tire either.

I'm on a 3/5 drop and didn't seem to rub when I put my stock wheels back on (275/60/20). I don't rub at all with my SRT's on 305/40/22's. Well except for when I a do a full turn but besides that I haven't noticed any rubbing at all. I'm some what tempted on going lower but I want to move up to the 305/45's before, so I can see how it looks. I'm not a fan of the gap im seeing between the tires & fender's even on my 3/5 drop.

That size rubbed on mine, I went to a 305-40 R22 and don't have any problems now.

I keep looking at the 1-3 drop springs. I don't want it low, just lower and kind of level.

I'm running stock 20 inch wheels and tires as well. Nobody has a possible fix?

Shorter tires and it won't rub stock tires are what 32-33 get a tire that's 31 or shorter and it won't rub I'm running 305/40 on 22x10 wheels(31.2" tires I think) on a 3/6 drop and I don't rub unless I'm turning and hit a bump

Okay smaller tires, may as well get new wheels as well.

As far as stiffer shocks go, would these QA1s be a better option? I'm willing to sacrifice comfort for performance. Is there as appropriate size that I can bolt on? I've read on another thread that this guy Unbroken has suggested a part number that will fit.

Some people run a 1/4 spacer, that's all it takes.

Is it rubbing the sway bar or fender liner on hard bumps?
If it's the liner a spacer won't help.

Ya spacers won't help that. Mine just rubbed on the control are at full turn.

You need shorter tires or get used to rubbing them. You're gonna need shorter bumpstops up front if you haven't trimmed them yet, Belltech designed their kit to almost ride on them at 2" so if you haven't already then you might not be getting the full drop amount.

Tyler wouldn't trimming the front bump stop make the front lower? Thus make the truck more susceptible to rubbing? I'll def look into shorter tires.

Yes it would, but it something you should look into when you get shorter tires.
