OBDII connector problem

As the title says I have a problem with my OBDII connector, it fell apart while I was trying to use it. It's been on the verge of doing that for a while but it finally happened.
I got it somewhat back together but there is no way for me to know if all the pins are in the right places and the plastic body is shot any ways. My solution is to go to a junkyard and see if they will be willing to cut the connector and a bit of wire out of a parts truck and sell it to me. I can then solder that into my harness and be able to use the connector.
My question is this.
My 02 SLT has the 4.7. Do I need the connector from another 4.7 SLT or are all the harnesses the same in that area and it doesn't matter? I imagine a diesel will be different but are the gassers the same?
The dealership says to put in a new harness but I'm not parting with over $1000 when a simpler solution can be done.

The OBDII connectors themselves should be all the same. Getting one from a ram in the junk yard might be best but I did find this replacement one on Amazon. It looks like from the reviews, you have to replace the wire pins with the ones supplied: https://www.amazon.com/Fotag-Female-Sockets-Connector-Adapter/dp/B01ETRIDUI

Getting the wires into the correct positions is the hard part. If you have or can find a factory service manual, the pinouts should be in there. I did some searching and found this pinout for a 2003 Ram with the 4.7 but I don't know if they are the same for the 2002 or not.
