Hey all!

I'm new to the forum, and am hoping you can help.

I have a '12 Express with the dual headlights (same bulb for hi/low), and put a set of HIDs in both the headlights and the fogs. Its the exact same kit I put in my wife's Jeep, which has had no problems for 3 years now.

At first, the headlight bulbs would switch from low to high with no problem. then the passenger side light would flicker real bad in high, and then finally stopped lighting in high at all. About a week later, the driver side started doing the same. Now, I have zero high beams. The lows work great, and no problems from the fogs.

My question is, does this sound like the bulbs, the ballasts, or the harness? Many thanks for any input you can provide!

Did you just install HID bulbs without the aftermarket harness? Or did you get the kit?

Kit included bulbs, ballast, and the wiring harness. All were installed. Like I said, it worked like it was supposed to at first.

I'd take it in to an auto shop that sells HID's to get them checked. We put a kit in our 2013 f250 and after a few weeks the ballasts went and there were no lights at all! Not a fun thing to have happen when driving in the dark! I've had HID's in my ram for 2 years now and they've been great.

Is this a CANBUS HID kit? If not, its probably whats causing your issues...check out Maxlux on Amazon, 3 year warranty and priced right, I have had great luck with them so far.

The problem with canbus plug n play vs a can bus harness is that there is nothing to protect your factory computer/wiring
Should you have a problem it can get expensive quick
