Can you elaborate? Are you talking about telling the Maestro that you are using a different pioneer model than the one you have?

It won't brick - it just wouldn't work properly if anything. I have done similiar models if Maestro doesn't list a model I need.

If you are talking about the head unit firmware, I would not recommend it. I doubt the firmware loader software would even allow it as usually there is checksum verification protocols in most firmware updating to verify correct previous version before loading new version firmware.
