I’m (if you have not guessed by now) old school and will not pay for radio, so satellite services are out. The free trial period with Sirus was interesting but appeared to be loopy in nature (same tunes at the same time of the day). I’m tried of being nickle and dimed at every turn,... cell phone rates being a major ripoff in Canada as a case in point. I’ll continue on as before.

Anybody remember the Pioneer “Super Tuner” series from back in the 80’s?

Pretty sure the Ram 8.4 stereos just don't have a great tuner at bringing in distant stations. Maybe in past when radio was so widely used like TV, but only now if you live close to major city. With the big factory antenna, my wife even commented why is my reception so bad, she gets great signal in her Kia optima, my Camaro ss with aftermarket radio also gets perfect reception, even my 05 Durango gets better reception. I will be experimenting with a antenna booster soon.

Hi Lydia,

Thanks for reaching out. Based on the many similar posts I'm seeing on this issue (both in this forum site and others), I'm guessing that this is a fairly common (and known) issue. Can you shed any light on how others have resolved this in the past? I don't mind working with the dealership to get it addressed, but it would be most helpful if I had some information and ideas to open the conversation with. Thanks!

Eric

Hi Eric,
I searched our system for any TSBs or STAR cases that may apply to this concern but I was unable to find any that describe symptoms similar to yours so unfortunately, I do not have any information on how this was resolved in the past. I apologize that I cannot provide any insight into this but I am available to escalate a case for you if you do decide to work with your dealer.

Have you tried an antenna booster yet? Any update? Thanks!
