I just had it at the dealer... I know I didn't curb it.. I hate having other people drive my truck!Judging by the scraping around it I would say someone curbed it pretty hard or ran over something they shouldn't have. I would run it until it was worn out myself.
It looks like the tire contacted an outside curve in a rather new curbstone. The abrasion seems to be quite short along the sidewall, so the curb got a nip at it, but apparently not enough for the tire to get onto the curb and then come back down again. It would have felt like a bump or maybe even like the truck had gone over a small pothole. Purely cosmetic, I'd say, from the appearance.Judging by the scraping around it I would say someone curbed it pretty hard or ran over something they shouldn't have. well it was in the dealer last weekend and I drive a company truck all week, so even though they were the last ones to drive it, it would not be worth the fuss. Also to be fair I may have run over something sharp on the road it happens .I guess this could be my excuse to put something on I like.I would go back and say something then because that didn't just happen. That's why no recalls have been done on my truck, I refuse to let those clowns in it.
It would be really helpful to post a picture of one of those blowouts to establish, perhaps, what is going on with them.I just got rid of those tires after 9000 miles. They are just ****** tires lol. To me that would justify a new set. Or keep running them and keep an eye on it. Although I’ve seen many trucks here that have had blowouts with these tires.

It's just the thin top surface layer, not bulging at all. I live in Florida so no winter here.I hate to replace these so soon, but they are not good tires to begin with IMO.
I agree ****** tires to begin with, makes me a bit nervous looking at it. I guess I can start looking for what I want to replace them with. I want to keep my stock 20 sport rims, I would like something more aggressive an AT tire I live on a dirt road. Other than my dirt road I stay mostly on pavement, so nothing too noisy or clunky to suck up too much gas or slow it down to much .I have a 2 inch level on front and would like to go to a bigger tire, I also like the look of white letters. any suggestions?I just got rid of those tires after 9000 miles. ^^^^ +1. Sidewall damage ain't nothing to mess with. That is now a weak spot, period, nothing else you can say about that, it ain't gonna get any better. I blew a sidewall out of a continental on my f150 at 50 mph. Tires had less than 5k on them and no apparent damage, never been curbed, I was the only one that ever drove the truck. As crappy as those damn OEM Goodyears are and as dangerous as they are on wet pavement, I'd use that sidewall damage as an excuse right now--today--to get a brand new set of tires!
