I have a question about Healight Bulb replacement.

These stock bulbs or lights are Horrible on my new Ram.

Are there brighter bulbs out there, that will improve night time visibility?

I have no plans on adding HIDs or spending Hundreds of $$$ on Headlight replacements.

Just curious if there were brighter bulbs that will replace these sub par OEM ones.

Thanks SyN

What lights do you have? Projectors or quads? IDR what the quad low beam uses but if you have projectors there's no better bulb option than the HIR2 that's in it.

Their are other bulbs but I've heard they burn out quicker because of the increased output.

I put some 4000K PIAA lights in mine. They worked better than stock but honestly were nothing compared to my HID's. You don't need to spend big money on HID's. Mine were $100 from an online company and worked for a year and a half until I sold the truck. My next ones I'm going to get from Retro Shop though because of all the great things I've heard about his products!

MPG: I do not have projectors! Wifes 12" Edge has those=Horrific Light as well.

I guess what I have quads. If there are really no brighter bulbs. I might have to look into HID's.

I'm not getting any younger and my eyes are getting worse! Especially at night!

If you ave fog/driving lights, put 9155's in there, stocks are 9145's and they are alot brighter than OEM.

I've pretty much tried it all with lights, Silverstars to top quality HIDs. I'll tell you right now that you're going to get what you pay for. Buy HIDs from JJ at Retroshop and call it a day. This is my 4th truck and I've had HIDs from 4 different companies, JJ is the best hands down. I can't tell you how much time I spent dicking with messed up bulbs, ballasts or wiring from Retro Solutions or DDM - both are complete garbage in the long term. I spent so much time messing with them, my grill on my last truck was hanging on by two bolts, all the tabs and 2 of 4 bolts were stripped and my headlight tabs were all broken.

Driver: Thanks for your advice!

After looking at all the prices of HIDs as well as within this forum.

I will keep the stock lights and just interchange bulbs.

I agree with the Silver Stars! Have had 3 sets in other family autos!

When the time comes they will be the first choice in the new Ram. I will learn to live with the headlights for now.

I like the way you blacked out your billets. What did you use & what was the process?
