For the 6, defiantly go 4.10. I can elaborate if necessary.

If you have the 8 speed tranny, the taller work fine.

If you're going to spend money on gears anyway then go big.

With you having 3.55's, I would go to a 4.10. There isn't enough difference between a 3.55 and a 3.92 to justify the cost. And like said, the 6 speed trucks really respond well to the 4.10's.

You will want a master install kit as well because it is almost impossible to remove the pinion bearing without damaging it. I have both the 4.10's and install kit in stock here, so I can get it out for you same day.

Will these work with 4x4 as well for a 2011? I've heard conflicting things about having to machine the carrier.

The OEM ZF 3.92 or 4.10 gears will bolt right in on the rear. Up front, you can get away with an aftermarket 3.92 or 4.10 gear.

They did not change the front axle until 2012, so you lucked out on that one.

Option? No, 4.10s should have been standard.

You have a big heavy truck, with a powerful engine and they gear it tall. How ******** is that?

How much mpg hit did you take from the 3.55s to 4.10s? Just curious.

What's the cost on doing this? I'm looking at upping from 3.21's to 3.92's on my '14 with the 8 speed

I just looked at the 4.10's on Moes, for some reason I thought these things were more expensive.

I have 4x2 w/ 3.55 going to 4.10's. Is that all I need? anything else required in order to swap these out?

What would something like this cost reasonably to have installed?:superhack:

You would just need the Mopar 4.10's for the 2011-up ZF axle and a master install kit. Labor normally runs anywhere from $300-$500 per axle depending on your location. Around here, most shops charge about $350 to do a gear swap on a 2wd.

I had 4.10s done sept '14, and haven't shut up about them, since.

AZ, I am a firm believer that the Old Wives Tale about tall gearing equalling better fuel economy is a load of crap, and a hold over from the old days when vehicles had 3 and 4 speed transmissions. And I think it's that preseption, that makes Dodge put those stupid tall gears in their trucks. They sell what people want, not what is correct. I remember telling guys that I was having 4.10s put in the truck, and they'd say: What are you going to do, go drag racing?!

I've gone down 2 steps when gearing the Ram, and it's still taller than the factory gears in the 13 V6 Mustang, or the 14 Jeep Wranler.

I haven't lost any potential fuel economy. My last tank, of my version of mixed driving, got 16.98 mpg. I've gotten 20, when I've gone 55-65. Now, in practical application, it's hard not to step on it more, because the truck is so much more responsive and fun.

The only down side to 4.10s is the initial cost, which is a BARGAIN!

Go for it!

I went 355 to 410 and love it. Was really pissed off at first I thought is was going to be this dramatic difference right out of the gate, not the case. It took a few months for the gears to break in. It was like a light switch being turned on, one day my truck just felt better and faster. There are a few things you need to know with the swap. First is your tranny will run hotter by about 20 degrees F but will go back to normal after a few months, after the computer learns the new gears. Second is change the rear diff fluid after 3K miles after the new gears get broke in. Trust me I had to learn all this by trial and error. Now with a custom tune im pulling high 4's and low 5's 0-60 :naughty:

The 4.10s sound awesome for sure. I already have the 3.92s though... I was wondering if anyone knows how much faster the 4.10s are in the 1/4 on a RC/SB Hemi vs. 3.92s?

Second question, can someone compensate for the taller gear with a shorter slick, and if so, what size would be ideal? It seems 28" is the hot ticket, I'm guessing 26" is too short?

Not sure about the tread but not much of a difference between 392 and 410.
