Im not due for an oil change but is it a good or bad idea to put an additive in there just to keep things free? Its a 5.7 with M1 synthetic i put in about 5k ago. Ive looked at Lucas oil but they have two diff additives that look like they do the same thing. But i cant decide if one is better than the other.... chime in for any helpful advise.

Do not add anything to your oil. Modern engine oils are formulated to perform just fine on their own and do not need additives to "free things up". If you want to obsess about your oil about it just change it.

I would agree only add an additive if you are trying to address some kind of noise or problem. I stopped using M1 and have had a lot less noise under the hood on both my truck and wife's journey.

Yep just keep it changed correctly and you wont have any oil related issues.
