Truck went to dealership for free oil change working fine. This morning I get in my truck 2024 Ram 1500 Bighorn. Start engine and turn on headlights. Left headlight blinks twice goes out. Right headlight blinks twice goes out. After that no matter how I manipulate the switch the lights do nothing. Shut down wait a few minutes try to turn on lights nothing, start it up and try but same results no headlights. Went through routine again but results same each light randomly blinks twice then off and won’t work after. My lights were working fine until the dealership visit

Wonder if they did a flash/update
I asked them and they say they did not. Was messing with the lights some more and still same. The left headlight comes on flashes then goes out and then the right one comes on flashes goes out then no lights at all

Trying to visual. Pull plug drain oil. Drop filter. Put in new filter. Add oil. How does that trash lights? Dropping oil tends to get on steering rack. Sure sounds like a flash gone wrong. If mine be parked right in front of dealership with a loaner vehicle given till truck repaired.

Any warning lights? Engine check light on?
Code reader any codes?

Look above floorboard, Left side firewall by E brake area. There are maybe 3 white/gray connection boxes. Check them insure all seated and plugged in. If good and tight right to Dealership.

That is what is strange they say they only did an oil change and tire rotation, change cabin filter. But everything worked fine going in and now if got light show. It kind of reminds me of when I had my gladiator and the tazer unit installed I could turn on a light show using the truck lights. But I have no tazer in this truck.

Did U check the stuff I mentioned in post #6? Specifically the boxes/electrical points under dash on firewall, lower left corner near where the emergency brake used to be? Those boxes are crucial connections. The older ED's had problems with those electrical connections. BUT after checking, if no resolution, best get back to dealership cause in the name of a famous person: Somebody seriously FULL of IT at Dealership.

CAUSE there should be NO FRIGGIN WAY changing OIL cause that issue... BUT I do see you got a 3.6L with the Filter and Housing on top of the Motor? NOW, somebody with a 3.6L needs to chime in on here, as I do not KNOW what wiring is in that area, Cause I be willing to bet the problem is there at the oil filter area, and wiring, maybe somebody pulled something ref wiring in that area when changing out the oil filter. AGAIN, somebody with a 3.6L needs to chime in, as I have a Hemi.

Just checking to make sure you don't have the headlights on auto? In my truck, it's the far right selection. If it's on auto, they will turn off during the day. This happened in my wife's Expedition when she got service done. They turn off the headlights because not all vehicles have auto headlights. She then told me her headlights weren't working. Hers were in the off position though (far left). I put them to one notch to the left (not auto) and they turned on.

Are you sure they did noy install any updated software. Check the mopar site to see if there were any outstanding recalls/updates for your vin. What does your paperwork say about service done?

There are coincidences in the world..... every chance your headlights would have started acting up while sitting in your driveway but the truck happened to be at the dealership. I think we can all agree doing an oil change shouldn't impact the headlights. If the dealership caused it I'd bet on a software update, etc. that they aren't admitting to. Whatever is wrong it should all be covered by warranty.

I took a video of what was going on and went to the dealership. After looking at the video they were clueless to what the cause would be. They said they would have to keep my truck for 4-5 days to diagnose. I could not let them have it for that long due to work so I went home. I sat in my driveway thinking and decided to go step by step everything I did from the day of the oil change to after I got home with the truck to returning from my trip and today. I believe I solved the issue. When I got home after the oil change I was in the Uconnect settings looking to see if there was something about the Compass that has stopped working. I noticed that there was a setting about DRL lights. Select to turn on the DRL lights. I assumed the truck had DRL so I clicked select. Didn't give it any more thought. The next morning the lights went haywire and stayed that way till this evening when I decided to unselect the DRL lights in the Uconnect settings. Well bam the lights started working again. I clicked select on again and the lights went back into that crazy pattern of on and off then no lights at all. Clicked the setting off and the lights go back to working fine. So I have my lights back working again and the DRL select button will stay unselected. Hopefully the lights will stay ok. Thanks everyone for tips and info was much appreciated

DRL should not do that, In Canada all have DRL on all the time, sounds like software problem.
YUP, DRL setting is also in U connect menu's on radio screen. I HAVE mine turned off in the U Connect, but the outer HALO ring stays on regardless, unless I was to gel AlphaOBD and try to turn off. Marshall is correct tho DRL setting SHOULD not turn truck into a freaking light show. Something was D/L somewhere. BUT OP, if U got em to work, ok than.
