Just wondering if there has been any developments with the method of removing the hemi oil filter with minimal spillage?

I use the zip lock bag method currently but was wondering if anything else works better. Someone once mentioned punching a hole in the filter first. Thoughts?

I just use aluminum foil doubled over and create a slide to my drain pan...slowly unscrew filter and let it flow out. Then carefully and levelly remove the filter to the front. Sometimes I dont end up wearing my used oil on my shoulder too. Idiot design engineers

Use a paint cup...quart size...slip it under the filter...let the oil drain into it, then drop the filter in. Carefully pull it through the front. Minimal to no mess. The cups are only about $1. I've tried the slides and ziplocks and this one doesn't make a mess.

I used a transmission funnel under the filter down to a drain pan. Dropped the filter into the funnel. No mess.

I may try the "form-a-funnel" the next time, it looks like it would would pretty well. Maybe someone who has used them can shed some light on the matter. The plastic bag is just so-so, but still messy.
