I just bought a 2026 3500 Cummins. I was thinking of putting one of those magnetic drain plug in. Has anyone done that, any issues? If you have, what torque did you set it to?
Thanks
Thanks

The smartest modification I've made to both of my trucks. It sure simplifies draining the oil in a controlled way.Waste of time/money. IF you do your own oil changes….you want a FuMoto oil drain valve.
Best addon you can do to simplify oil changes on these poorly designed oil drain locations. I also found a soft funnel that will fit over the filter. It has a long spout. I pull down the edge and punch holes in the oil filter and let it drain.. when i unscrew and remove i get no mess from it either.Waste of time/money. (OIl drain plugs do not “see” very much of the oil until its drained. The circular “do-nut” magnets that sit on top of the oil filter might be useful, …but if you do much investigation you’ll find a magnet does nothing for longevity…. it only shows you a bunch of metal when you investigate that knocking sound that’s already developed.

Another “trick” which can work is to use a large/gallon zip-lok bag over the filter as it is removed. The bag can contain the filter and the oil inside.Best addon you can do to simplify oil changes on these poorly designed oil drain locations. I also found a soft funnel that will fit over the filter. I seem to have more of a wreck when I try things like that, I did make up a plastic jug from orange juice ,I think that did help .Another “trick” which can work is to use a large/gallon zip-lok bag over the filter as it is removed. The bag can contain the filter and the oil inside.
