Hello all,

2002 Ram 1500 4.7L, 206k miles.

Anyone have problems with oil pressure switch?

Truck has pressure gauge in dash. Original switch leaked, replaced with BWD brand. First one bad out of box, 2nd one lasted 4-5 mo. also developed leak.

Replaced with another brand. And this one, the gauge will go intermittent. Pressure drops to 0, check gauges illuminated. Sometimes 10 minutes or more.

Verified oil pressure with mechanical gauge, reads ok. No tick, tap, or knock when gauge fails to register either.

Connector lock is broken and plugs in with little resistance. I have a new connector, but have not installed it as of yet.

Anyone else have similar issues? Will replace with OE sensor if need be.

Sorry, realized it was in the wrong section after reading a reply to another post about same year/model vehicle. So, I reposted over there.

I bought a 01 with 5.9 previous owner said replaced it 4 times they Reed fine for few days then drops to 0 warning lights on only at low rpm while warm. No tick yet. It really wasn't getting oil I put full can seafoam in new oil change with a 1qt filter Ph 8a a ford oil filter same as your 4.7 only difference it holds a at anyway carbon build up was the breaking up and plugin things.
After a couple weeks it held enough pressure to keep warning lights off.

Owner of two 4.7 190k plus miles still shows good pressure even with all the lifter tick
