Clean air filter? Clean throttle body? Plugs changed? Are you stock wheel/tire?

I just realized you have an 04.........a lot could be affecting your mpg. I would start the process of elimination.

He said it runs smooth. He'd probably be able to feel a misfire unless it is very intermittent or subtle.

It's amazing how sometimes you can't feel a miss. Especially on the 4.7s. My dad never knew he had a misfire on cylinder 3 until it finally threw a P0303 code. Number 3 plug died and it was barely firing.

Sweet Jesus have mercy. With 390k, I'd be doing a compression and leak down test to see what the numbers are.

Need to calculate by hand. Also are running stock tire size? If not your speedo and odometer will be off. That will change your mpg.

Dang dude, I can't help you that much, but i would definitely re-do your mpg calculations. I've got an 06 1500 with the 4.7 with 48K and my in-truck average gauge reading is never totally right. All i've got is a K & N drop in and a Magnaflow muffler and the WORST i've ever got was 12.9 all city driving. Best was 17.3 on a roadtrip i did. I have an app on my phone that i track my fillups with too. Helps a ton and it's got a sweet little graph showing everything and an overall average!

I have 325/60/20 on mine and when I put them on my mileage went from 14-16 down to 11-12 on the highway and I get around 10 in town.

Damn no wonder I've been thinking my mpgs were too low. I recently got my 07' 1500 and it came with SRT 22's.

Hey man what's the name of that app? Cause I've got a single cab 06 with a 4.7 too. And I've noticed my mpg is way down on the overhead. I don't think anything is wrong, although I have been looking for a better way to track my mpg.
