I have four vehicles with pillar mids wrapped in street suede from Keyston brothers. None of them required a seam as the street suede stretches better than even vinyl. Here's the latest one.

Kudos to you though for doing all the work yourself. That is where my limited skills stop and rely on JT Audio and Accessories to build and wrap pillars for me.

That looks great and not too intrusive to viewing. Does that shop by chance do work for people outside of the local area? ;)

I think this link is it:

Subcategory Listing Page « Keyston Bros.

Above is actually our fifth set of pillars built and wrapped by JT in street suede. Below are other examples across several of our other vehicles.

My first set of pillars (in my Civic):

Wife's pillars (close up from what I previously posted...notice the complexity of the pillar and how this wraps smoothly and evenly, and the trim ring is wrapped in the same material with a different accent color):

Second set of pillars (in my Civic):

Pillars in our minivan:

...if I do get pillars for our RAM, well, pretty sure I know what fabric will be used. ;)

Lol..JT is a one man shop, and he used to have a shop, but now works out of his garage. :D

If you're on DIYMA, you might try to PM him (or he has a FB page), but I think he tends to have a long queue.

Dam JT does awesome pillars! Those are really nice. Would love a set of low profile for my HAT L3v2's. Similiar to Brads.

Yea, JT is THE man if you want some pillars done right. I wonder what his going rate is for a set. I might have it down once I get a few more sets under my belt.

Alriiiiiight! Been a slow few weeks on my build. Had a few jobs for other people, worked on the HT a bit, and some honey-dos so hadn't had much time to mess with my own stuff. Also took another step back and sold my sail panels. Finally got some breathing room so I got ready to wrap these pillars and the suede fabric Is nowhere to be found. Don't wanna blame my preggo brain wife, but the bish threw it away. Sooooo I ordered some new fabric and in the mean time, I got some texture paint and I would paint one to see how it came out...

Meh, Looks ok. Haven't installed it yet but I doubt I'll be able to live with it.

Fast forward a few days and the vinyl I ordered came in...

Hmmmmm, now I think were getting somewhere. Whipped out the heat gun, razor, and contact cement and started wrapping. Attempt 1 = big fail. But learned a few things. 1) was that there was no way this was gonna work without a seam.... 2) I must have been a 90 year old woman in my past life...

I put it under the speaker facing the dash so it will barely be noticable when installed. 2nd attempt ...

Fail.... Too much heat and stretch es no Bueno. Now I learned even more. Hopefully third times a charm so I can get this portion of my life over with and move on.

I do like that vinyl. Matches awesome.

90 year old woman, what a riot! Your sewing does look great. Maybe some larger thread next time to accentuate it? Possibly even another color that matches a color on your interior? Living up to my name, I also build fishing rods, gudebrod winding thread is "the" stuff.

Sorry it didn't work out in the end but you now have experience that will make it work. Keep it up!

I agree with the thread. Definitely needs to be thicker but this thin stuff was all I had on hand. May scoop some up on the way home.

Where may I be able to source gudebrod locally?

It would have to be a fishing store. Do you have a Cabelas or Bass Pro locally? Or even a fishing store that you know has parts or ties flies?

Now that I am thinking more about it. You may be better off at a michaels or other art store. I actually source parts from those stores when building spinners.

These pillars have pissed me off enough and have caused me to break too many of my belongings. I got fed up with the vinyl and just threw some black grill cloth on it for now.

So this is just how it's gonna be for a bit. I went to few places Looking for something more stretchy and struck out about 5 times. I have a few other projects I need to finish for other people so I'll just rock the 1 covered and 1 painted pillar for now.

Sails came in so I whipped those up real quick. Just need to sand em down and paint them
