I'm thinking about buying a throttle body spacer for my 1999 Ram 1500, specifically the Air-Raid Power-Aid TB spacer. I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some feedback on these, and if there really is a noticeable difference with them installed. Thanks.

I know it does Zero for a Hemi, and prolly not much more for your truck put the money towards an SC 3815. 2nd Gen experts will chime in.

Alright, thanks. I havent too many good things about these TBS's. I think I'll skip it and prob do the DIY throttle body boring and shaving. Then eventually get an intake.. Well see what happens with money and stuff first though lol

Yeah throttle body spacer is a paper weight for our trucks with the way our keggar intake manifold is.

I would go with a Superchips or an SCT tuned by Hemifever if you plan on doing some engine mods.

Yeah, I've been hearing some good things about the superchips. Are the 3815's any good?

i have had the jet chip, hypertech max energy, superchip 3815, and now the sct programmer. superchip is a good investment if you donnt plan on alot of mods. i always liked mine. i now have the sct with custum tunes. it is the best for performance. sct is necessary if you do things like a cam. though they do offer "can tunes". and i think the newest number for the superchips is 3865.

and donnt waste your money on a tb spacer. they donnt work for our trucks.

I have the 3715. When you get into the newer superchips they have some tuning opotions but are only for the newer trucks, I don't think the 2nd gens are able to use the trans tuning etc. You might post a message in the Superchips vendor section here.

My 3715 does what I want so far, as I have yet to try the tow program. But its almost time to go camping so will find out sometime.

As said above, forget the TB spacer, does nothing at all on a Multi-Port Fuel Injected engine. It does however, work well on Throttle Body Injection, and Carbed applications, it just helps atomize the fuel better. This isn't the case on a MPFI motor like ours.

Definitely go with the SCT Tuner for our 2nd gens. Just the removal of torque management is well worth it. They are only $265 and can be bought from Sean Powell, if your interested just shoot him an email at [email protected]
