So I started my 100,000 mile maintenance and when I removed the throttle body to clean it I saw a small narrow strip of orange color inside the intake manifold shortly behind where the throttle body mounts and it keeps going back into the intake for as far as I could see (didn't think to look with a flash light). I have been losing coolant slowly lately and have been unable to ID the source and this looked coolant orange so I am thinking it may be caused by that. Anyone had a intake crack or something and leak coolant very slowly inside of it from right behind the throttle body??

That ring is to seal the TB to the intake. I doubt the coolant leak is there since coolant shouldnt be up that way unless there is a major issue. Check the resv mount and cap along with your rad cap and the t-stat housing.

I am not talking about the orange ring between the TB and the intake. This is a faint orange discoloration inside the intake manifold itself behind the throttle body that just goes back inside the actual intake manifold. I will take a picture next time I have a chance to year it down.

Intake manifold could just be discoloring, Mine has a faint yellowish hue to it on the inside, Take a rag next time you have it apart and wipe the area down and smell it. If you have a CAI or drop in filter that uses the red oil it could be a build up from the oil over the years that has bled through the filter and into the manifold.

Highly doubt that it would be coolant, if you have coolant in there, that high up you have some MAJOR issues going on.

Well it's nearly the same color as the coolant and I am losing coolant slowly and have not been able to pinpoint where. I just replaced the radiator cap thinking maybe it wasn't holding pressure but in still loosing it. Does the intake manifold have any coolant passages in it? Maybe one has a small crack or was molded bad from the factory and is porse and it is seepin through? Don't think a head gasket is the source of my coolant disappearance, no abnormal smoke from exhaust and when I just did my spark plugs none look to be steam cleaned, they all looked the same and the oil looks normal
