P0116 code

P0116 lit up and hasn't cleared after several driving cycles and several hundred miles. Is there a "most common cause"?

Yeah, the temp sending unit isn't working properly. Are you noticing any other symptoms? Black smoke, over heating, poor fuel economy. If the PCM isn't getting the right signal from the sending unit it can cause the above symptoms in addition to the annoying light. Of course, you can always do what my neighbor did and put a piece of electrical tape over the light.
