P0172 Too Rich bank 1

I get this Pending error P0172 Too Rich Bank 1.

It only happens when it rains.

Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 Sensor is currently broke (wire is off) and I haven't been able to get it out. I need to get it to someone that knows more and has better tools than I.


When it happens the truck will sputter and hesitate awful when trying to accelerate. If I put the pedal to the floor, it will eventually take off, but as soon as I let off and it goes back to cruising rpms, it will do the same thing if I try and accelerate again.


It is strange that the error will only start when it rains.

your o2 sensors regulate the Air/Fuel mix by reading the oxygen in the exhaust gases. rough idle, poor mpg, running rich are all signs of a failed/failing o2 sensor. replace the o2 sensor

Something else you are not careful you will cook a cat the reason engine not burning fuel properly .
