Just got some ram emblems and the hemi 5.7 emblems last week...The rams head ones are a black plastic gloss but the hemi 5.7 is flat black...I rather them as a gloss so when i use clear coat on them should i use some promoter 1st or just clean, dry and clear coat??

I think the problem you're gonna have is actually making that particular color (flattish carbon), glossy in appearance. I think it will just look smoothly flat, (if that makes sense?) if you just spray with clear. If you think about how dark grey cars look, the glossy ones have metallic added. If you want a true gloss, rather than just "smooth", I think you're going to have to go with a color closer to black, followed by the clear.

1st i thought i should just use a gloss paint but it would be a b*^ch to cover over the 5.7 part..Thought about glossifer from plasti dipp then clear coat...Kinda wanted them to pop a lil more cause of my gloss rims, front and rear black glossed ram head emblems and when i gloss pain my fake hood scoops..

Dereck, thats exactly what i have sittin in my garage now..

Spray it with the plast-******* gloss first, or water.. That will show you pretty much what it'll look like. If you like it, spray it with a good clear coat.

IMO

Austinb..Sounds like water would be a better idea cause if the glossifer from plasti dip looks like crap then its a b^&ch to get off i imagine..Nice idea though.
