I would never try a dealer supplied add on sealant. Not after learning everything I have from the Internet! Isn't everything you read on the Internet true? Anyway, I digress, there are coatings and sealants available. Sealants provide some protection, gloss and shine. Coatings on the other hand can actually add THICKNESS to the paint layer. This provides scratch and swirl protection Try autogeek.net or carpro-us and check out what you find. I have a few different ones to try. I have used Wolfgang deep gloss sealant, it provides a great shine and gloss, okay on protection. I am running Pinnacle black label on my truck now which is a coating. The windshield is holding up great, after a little bit of heat, the ice does come right off. I still have Cquartz and Migliore to try, the Cquartz is going on my black 300. Most of the dealer supplied stuff is crap, they pay some kid $8 and hour to wash and apply it, may was well give them a green scotchbrite pad.

Okay I used to work at a dealer Chevy oddly enough as I am Dodge guy always have been really. Anyway the product we offered was called Auto Armor. It was a teflon like sealent that made the paint very very smooth. The gold package included this paint sealant, interior protection, rust proofing and undercoating. Now yes it was a lot of money $499 and of that money I got $100 spiff but what customer was paying for other than spiff was some product and mostly warranty. If that car rusted... covered it, if stain would not come out... covered it, the bird poop story etching paint... covered it. We did claims every so often but honestly seemed like a pretty damn good product with profits of course built in. We sold 50 to 100 per month on average and consumers really liked the results even though they did pay a fair amount. If it is applied properly I feel it is pretty good if people are lazy and get it on the black molding and stuff than that is not good. Most people don't even keep their vehicle long enough to matter though.
