Parking lot damage!

Went to the drug store this morning..I swear I was gone 5 minutes, came out and there's a huge swipe under the passenger side headlight. The paint on the painted piece above the bumper is gone and the bumper has scrapes..which luckily rubbed right off!

What the hell is wrong with people? Is it too scary to leave a note saying, "hey, hit your car. Call me at ... and we can work it out".

Anyway, didn't wanna go through insurance as its under my dad's name..so silver lining. Stopped by a GM dealer close to work, they have a built in body shop. I have some scrapes around the tail lights on the bed from the previous owner, and they're rusting. The bodyshop is gonna repaint the whole bed for me for $400 each side and under the bumper and the front piece for $80 which is chump change really

I'm gonna have a new'ish truck again!

They tried to sell me a new silverado at 0% and lifetime brake pads/tires/free oil changes blah blah..ended up taking a test drive and telling the sales guy that it didn't feel right. The crew cab front seats felt smaller than my quad cab and it didn't feel truck'ish..or ram'ish I guess. He said "worth a shot" and I went to work.

Wanted to vent a bit, thanks to anyone who reads this...mods, if this needs to be moved to the lounge..please.

Was it at a Walgreen's drug store......my bad man.....Naa seriously though, sounds like you are getting a pretty good deal on getting her fixed up right, just needed a little more motivation! lol. The lifetime wear items on the Silverado sounds like a pretty good deal if that's what someone wants. Glad they didn't turn you!

That sucks!!! Gotta hate the way people today just don't respect other people's property, it's just sad. Good your getting it all fixed for a decent price, but still, could have spent that money on other things you needed instead of body repairs.

I know, I had my eye on these 17" RTX off road rims, black with chrome bolts..guess I'll wait till spring. Boohoo right.

Yep, I always park way, way at the end of the lot. People are just completely inconsiderate now days.

yep since i got the Ram i park away from people. also got into the habit of doing a quick walk around every time i get in to make sure nothing has happened. i did get 2 small scrapes on my rear bumper so i assume someone bumped me at some point but it's not very noticeable and for sure not worth my insurance deductible

I have a buddy with a brand new GMC 2500. Valet scraped the entire bed side on the passenger side and tried to just give my buddy his keys back without telling him.

My friend had more restraint than me, I'd be in jail for assault or worse.

I'll never use valet parking. I've known enough people that did it and heard too many stories.

Man I don't even let my dad drive the truck, and he was a fighter pilot in the RBAF...forget a valet lol.

I did, dude..I parked in an area which had no vehicles, quite far from the store. Somehow, still got hit. Maybe it was that middle eastern lady with the scarf on her face that almost caused an accident a month ago when I posted in the lounge, came back to finish the job

Just came from Wal Mart. I noticed a late model Chevy 2500 parked near the end of the lot away from everyone. I then watched a lady turn loose of her buggy as she was loading her car. It slowly rolled away as she watched and just stared at it! I cringed as it rolled downhill toward the Chevy, gaining speed. Luckily, it hit the front tire and not sheet metal. She looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I thought I was about to be a witness in another lawsuit!

i see a lot of carts that have just been left sitting there get blown into cars. it really is sad that these days every store has spots for carts like every 5 parking spaces yet people are still to lazy to put them away

sorry about your truck!! i ALWAYS park as far away from people as i can, and i always find an end spot and park over the line(into the striped space) or hug the curb to give me extra room on the one side so people dont ding me or anything and i ALWAYS back in lol

My last car was a SUPER nice Evo 9 and i seriously would not park that thing anywhere lol ALWAYS FAARRRRR AWAY!!!!


Amazing how people are so careless. I was in my truck yesterday at school and i had to park in close proximity to other people because i was running late for class and after class im sitting in my truck and the dude next to me just opens his passenger door and lets it fly open and i could have sworn it grazed my truck so i roll the window down and look outside and he sees me looking but is oblivious to the reason, and i tell him "politely" to watch his F*&KING door!!! Just because you drive a $3k POS doesnt mean you can just fling your door open!

People are unbelievable. I always park as far away from other cars as possible. Also It simply amazes me how I leave my truck in an end spot surrounded by empty spots and I come back to it and some ******* parks RIGHT NEXT TO IT.

My only close encounter so far was at a CVS parking lot. I run in real quick like under 10 mins. I did my usual park 100 miles away, come out and see a cart up against the side of my truck. To say that I flipped out would me a huge understatement. Luckily it hit my runningboard and not the side of the truck. There was literally no car within 50 feet of my truck yet there was the cart.

After reading through this thread, I'm starting to think some people are just jealous when they see a nice vehicle parked away from everyone and decide to do something to it.

It's funny because truck owners seem to have this ********* double parking image, yet every truck owner I talk to seems to be the opposite and park as far away from people as possible and a solitary spot, within the lines, backed up nicely.

People at work make fun of me when I come in because I park at the far end, like dude..is your truck parked all the way in Manitoba again?

Annnnnd we still get hit.
