Anyone know of any inexpensive mods to my 2002 dodge ram 1500 4.7L that can be done at home? Even if it's not a big difference but every little but counts!

Done at home as in completely homemade? Or mods to buy that can be put on at home yourself?

Tuner and intake are the easiest at home mods to do. Some of the exhaust can be done at home just depends on what you have in your shop.

you can go buy a spectre air filter and then go to the local home improvement store ( home depot, Lowe's ) and buy some 3-4" plumbing PVC with a bend piece as well and you can make yourself a homemade Cold Air Intake. I've seen it done on this forum and with some paint it looked amazing. I'm sure this would be well under $100

K and N drop in 49.99 little cheaper at dif. Places then order an modular intake tube from airraid and rip off that resonater... then get gforce chip for ur I.A.T. sensor both will be under 200 together Then get a helix power tower and she'll **** and get.. oh yea cut off ur muffler box and weld and straight pipe or glass pack on or even a flowmaster box on she'll sound awesome and run...maybe even get a tru70mm throttle body from fast man.com I've heard of this intake fan that's 180$ that acts like a supercharger with low boost but blasts 1800 over stock cfm then get performance spark plugs and wires with all that but the intake fan I get 34 mpg open highway and 390hp and 402 lbs of torque at 2500 rpms I whooped an old 5.2 sport and he was amazed I had a 4.7 lol oh I have a glass pack but thinking about just going trudual..

03 4.7 SLT with 70mm f-m tb helix power tower backed with air raid cold air tube and gforce iat chip and customed stock filter box with k and n high flow .. with chopped short exhaust with glass pack and custom tip infront of rear tire.. and to tune it up i got a bully dog power programmer... set on mid-range play :)

right now ive got a cherry bomb 2.5 inlet/out glasspack on(around $25), and a throttle body spacer that i noticed a slight increase in take off($100). i was strapped for cash at the time. just waitin to put some new bolt on parts that are sittin in the truck when i get home in a few months. best bet will be changin out the stock muffler for a glasspack or a performance muffler.

OK, I am raising the ******** flag here....

Post some dyno slips to back up the highlighted statement. Another thing too, PLEASE tell me what kind of performance "wires" your 4.7 has...

As for the OP

180 tstat, power wire, intake, exhaust and a programmer when you get the $$$.

I am running a K&N drop in with the Airaid MIT and it gave my engine a little more pizazz under WOT acceleration. But that tube alone new is around $130, or $190 with a high flow filter included.

390hp and 402 lbs of torque at 2500 rpms

Thats it I have made up my mind im selling my 04 Hemi that dont make that and get myself an 03 with the 4.7 and throw a tornado "supercharger" on it. I wouldnt mind seeing that Dyno run myself. Sooooo im guessing if you make those numbers at 2500 at 5500 your making 420+ on the hp??? I am speaking from my time at the shop messing with these motors.

So if im reading this right a stock 03 4.7 has more rear wheel HP then crank HP? Not to mention your making more HP at the wheels then a stock 5.7. What dyno did you run it on for those #'s

I dont care bout the fuel MPG.... I am wondering how you are making that much power. I feel the need to learn something new today.
