so i just finished watching both parts of the 545rfe to 46re swap that frostbite ram did a while back and it looked pretty straight forward and its not cheap but not that expensive for the swap kit so heres my question.
will this swap work as a 65rfe replacement? the 65rfe is basically the same trans as the 545rfe unless manually shifting all 6 gears i belive.
i belive the 46re is a 4 speed. will it make a difference losing 2 gears? just wondering. let me know what yall think

65 RFE is an even worse POS.

8 speed swap is the only way to go.

The 46re is a step backwards unless running boost. The first gear is only a 2.45 vs 3.00 on the 65rfe and 2nd is 1.45 46re vs 1.67 65rfe.

I went with the ATS stage 5 diesel 545rfe and no regrets at this point. I have been doing hard pulls every time I start her up. Had her on a 2000KM trip on open highways and she is shifting incredibly awesome! Im happy with my choice.
