What did you upgrade from? Considering doing mine, but not sure how I feel about losing access to vehicle settings. I have the premium cluster and 5.0 uconnect.

Go with the Kenwood Maestro compatible radio and use the Masetro harness... you will retain everything.

What model was that looks nice:favorites13:

Sorry for the delayed response. Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS. Purchased it from Crutchfield. Came with discounted mounting bracket and wire harness. Installed myself. Never installed one before, but thought I'd give it a try with the instructions from Crutchfield. Very easy install.

I used the XSVI-6523-NAV (harness) that was included by Crutchfiled at a discounted price.

Found a parking brake bypass device cheap on eBay that works perfectly...easy 3-wire setup. Also, found an adapter that allowed me to use the factory satellite antenna the SiriusXM satellite tuner. No need to run another antenna.

Upgraded from the basic 3.0 uConnect.

Crutchfield is where I bought it. They send install instructions for your specific vehicle. Very easy install...was my first stereo install. Also used YouTube to watch some other installs.

So when y'all install the new radio, how are you able to still adjust your trailer settings, lights and all the other stuff programmed in the factory radio? I really want to change mine out (5.0) because I hate how it limits the volume at top end, but I tow multiple trailers and don't want to lose my settings.

All my settings are through the EVIC in the dash. Upgraded from the 3.0 version. I'm assuming you wouldn't be able to change any settings that were through the factory head unit. Owned a 2011 Charger before this truck and that had the 8.4 screen which most of the car settings ran through...one of the reasons I opted for the basic head unit from the factory. Knew I was going to swap it out for an aftermarket to add an and sub as well.

Look into a iDatalink Maestro compatible radio. From my understanding, it will allow you to access all the original vehicle settings controlled through the radio as well as add some other features including guages.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Spot on. One thing to note is not all Maestro compatible radios offer the same functionality. The Pioneers offer less then the Kenwoods as far as factory integration and bonus features. Haven't personally installed an Alpine yet so no opinion there.

Hmm, good to know. Fortunately I'm planning on going with a Kenwood anyway. And then there'll be more guages!
