I currently have a drop in bedliner that is in OK shape. I would love to get LineX or Rino Liner, but I don't have $700 to drop on a bedliner. I was wondering how Plasti Dip would work? Actually use PLastidip for its real purpose hahaha. I Dipped my entire VW Passat, and it held no problem for a year until I decided to peal it off.. Would enough coats hold up against moderate use, Occation house work, moving a liquid tote in and out. ext? I have about 10 cans from a project I didn't do... Plasti Dip is pretty durable ****, so wondering if anyone has attempted this or think it could hold up

If you scrap it you can just add a little more. I can see it going either way.

Wouldn't hold up to much of anything cargo-wise.. Friction is plasti-dips worst enemy.

fixed that for you.

plastidip doesnt hold up on wheels, i cant imagine it lasting very long as a bedliner. unless you dont use your bed for anything.

I have had my VW rims dipped for a year, any my 2004 Ram 2 years, and the ram went mudding and off road ext. never peeled. Holds on the rims well, aswell to weathering, thats why i was wondering. If that happened to you, must of not preped your rims

Nope, I rolled my liner in, and it looks like crap next to my neighbor's Linex bed. But, It was $100 and is very durable. I literally dragged a hunk of metal with a bolt scraping the bed and there was little damage. It was from a kit I got at the local hardware/auto store and had an option to buy a gun to d a spray in style, but I couldn't be bothered.

That Raptor liner while not the same brand as what I used it the same thing.

Hope that helps!

P.S. I don't know anything about plastidip except 2nd hand info.

If you find a DIY liner, get one that can be applied with a spray gun. I did the Rhino-Liner roll-on in my first '01 Ram about 10 years ago - while it was durable, it looked like ****. If it had been sprayed in, it would have looked better. A lot better.

As for Plasti Dip, it will not hold up to the duty of being a bed liner, unless you use about 50 cans of it and make it 1/2" thick, which would cost more than the DIY kits...

Plastidip is awesome.....but not for a bed liner, that's a horrible idea no matter how thick you think you have put it down.

I've dipped cars, quads...all kindsa ****.

Like informal said, friction does not work well with plasti dip.

Who the hell is charging $700 for spray in bedliner? That a California thing? I paid $430 for my Rhino Liner and the local Line-X wants $480 for standard size bed.

Monsta Liner is a great bedliner for low cost. It is a roll on, but the Rollers are textured so you get the bedliner look, there are no rubber chunks and none are necessary. it is great because you mix in an activator right before applying, so the product cures. You do need to scratch your bed up though, just like any bedliner.

Having said all that, I would get LineX. I have had it inn 3 trucks, there is nothing as good.
