I didn't like having the open license plate holes in my front bumper, so I was looking for plugs. I was only finding plastic ones, which while they'd work, wasn't what I wanted. And then I found these.

They're metal and come painted gloss black. They fit the 3/8" holes perfectly. They come from Gardner Westcott (#43571-GB). I got them from a local motorcycle shop. They also come in flat black and chrome.

Could you send me the place you got them from? I need #43571-FB and can't fit it on the web

I got them from a local motorcycle shop. I couldn't find them on the web either. The only stuff I could find was dealer restock kits that included over a hundred pieces in different sizes. Gardner Westcott makes a lot of Harley specific chrome fasteners and I've gotten some from dealers in the past, that's why I ended up trying a bike shop. They did have to order them for me, as they didn't stock any of the black.

I used some quick steel formed into the two holes and then applied some touch up paint.

Not the best alternative but cheap and effective for the time being.

I just used the plastic push type grommets. Had them color matched. That was on a past car. My last few vehicles they just hand you the plate mount due to living in a state that doesn't require it.

Are those the little buttons the dealership sells to plug the mount holes in your rear fender when you take the passenger seat off and go solo?

No. The fender plugs are different, and plastic

Lowes appears to have something similar. I am going to go by there and see if they'll work and I'll post up. Ready to ditch that plate

They look about the same. Hopefully they'll work for you.
