Hey everyone! I really hope someone can help before I go buy a Ford! Haha (Kind of not kidding though)

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Sport. Only 45k miles. I had a 4” RCX suspension lift and I added a 1.25” body lift and then I added adjustable Bilstein shocks up front set at 1.8” I believe and a small rear spacer to level it out. I also added JBA upper front control arms.

I also run 20x14 Anthem Gunners and 35x12.50 AMP Terrain Attacks.

I’ve had the wheels balanced 4 times and have done 2 alignments. The alignment is still not right though (some mechanics don’t know their a** from a hole in the ground!) ..... But I am getting a very bad shake!! Feels like driveline shake to me?

Can anyone tell me what to check or where to begin?? I thought if I bought the driveshaft drop for a RCX 6” it would help, but Rough Junktry said the drop brackets are the same on 4” and 6” ... So I’m lost.

You should describe

What happens

and

When - under what conditions

the problem occurs.

when did the shaking start? was it fine before you did something, and the "something" made it start shaking?

It always had a little shake. Even when just at 4”... But now it’s bad!! The seats shake, the bed shakes, everything shakes!!

Mainly at highway speeds. Seems to smooth out a little under heavy acceleration.

Is there a reason this was moved to exterior? Seems like a “lifted” thread to me?

You did a lot of mods. You should take it to someone who is very knowledgeable about what you did to check it all out before you start diagnosing it yourself.

is this a 2wd or 4wd? I've read where lifts on 2wd can shake but I don't remember the exact changes that cause it

Question on the Tire balancing...was it a regular balancing or a Road force balance?? On another car I had a new set of tires put on, balanced and rotated 4 times. Still had the vibration . I ended up getting a different set of tires at a different shop and had the same issue. Ended up that I needed a Road force balance. Now that I know about them I’d never get a regular balance again. I don’t know if this will help you, just thinking out loud.

Have you tried to swap the tires front to rear? see if the problem "moves"
Or ask a buddy to swap the rims/tires for a short drive to rule out if it's something in the drivetrain.

also, have you removed the factory retaining clips that hold the brake rotors on when the aftermaket wheels were put on?

Yeah they were road force balanced even though that’s more of a gimmick than anything lol.

Well we don’t have anyone like that or I would. So my 10 years as a mechanic has got me this far, but myself and my buddies who have been mechanics their entire lives are stumped. But none of us are very knowledgeable about lifted trucks.

Unfortunately I do not. I might look for a set though. All my local buddies drive Cummins. I just didn’t see the point in one this time around.

I’d look closely at the drive shaft. I had a bone stock 12 Ram that had a shake and the drive shaft balancing weight had came off. How? I have no idea. It was a short bed base model tradesman. Damn I hated that truck!!!
