I could make it completely removable and run an extra set of speaker wire towards the front real easy. Then I could choose between the Blacks in the rear, or the who knows what up front! Two different sub stages lol
If I went that route, maybe a nice ten or twelve

dual sub stages FTW!! Then you could put an 18 in the windshield IB style and have 3 substages!! lol

Is this a sickness we have?

But seriously, the center console thing makes sense i guess. You could always whip up a footwell box and throw one of your arcs in there just to get an idea of what it would sound like. Then invest the time and $$$ if it sounds like you would want to go that route

I say try the foot well can't really hurt and if its just going to be something to try hell it doesn't have to be pretty. hhhhhmmmmm now you have me thinking with loading of the center console. How about an external slot port that is loaded off the front firewall? Run it under your console and literally have bass coming out of the dash.

I've thought of that and ran it by my installer/friend. His response was that essentially my idea would basically be a band-pass box which would be very peaky at certain frequencies...but I really don't know?
The lack of loading is not really a deal breaker when it comes to a center console build....but it does raise concern a bit.....only because I like to have good output from my sub(s)....car stereo is and always will be a trade off....gotta take the good with the bad.

I really am looking at doing this myself. My idea is using a skar zvx 8 and throwing 1200w at it tuned really low in about a cube while having the sub inverted behind my middle seat with port heading to front.

I really don't have anything constructive to add.... but I have loved reading this thread!

I never really considered 8s for getting that deep low bass. All the installations I saw were insane loud but seemed to lose the low end. I always liked 12s for getting loud and low without losing the punch for everyday listening. Having 10s now, I really miss my 12s but building a center console enclosure or raising the rear seats is just not an option.

Thanks for allowing me to follow along and dream of what I would do if I......

You are absolutely correct. 8's can get insanely loud but lose their gusto down low. Sundown and a few other manufacturers are doing a great job at proving us wrong...their 8's are getting rediculously cool and you can almost fit them anywhere! They all have their pros/cons
But when in doubt, go with tens....always a safe bet
God im confused now

I was bored last night and wanted to address a frequency that was driving me nutty.
did some more tuning and seemed to flatted out the response a bit more.
I think that is pretty darn flat IMO...you can see where the subs get hot and where they fall off....Iam not liking this at all....everything else Iam really pleased about

For the record, volume was a 22/62
not the most accurate means of measurement, but it helps get you close.....I don't think anything beats the human ear

Nice, vet flat for a self tune. U using pink noise?

This is mine after the ms8 auto tune. And me adjusting 2 bands that peaked pretty hard core...

Volume was 26/40. About my normal listening level.

And UR right, not the best method but def helps. I wanted to test the apps accuracy so I would jack one band all the way up on my eq to see if it would move on the app, and everything above 200hz was actually dead on. Everything lower was a little hit or miss. Surprised me none the less.

^^oh yea that's real flat with a hot sub bass.... Nice work!
yep, found a free pink noise on itunes and a free rta (just got a new iphone5 so I had to replenish some of my apps)
kinda fun to see what's going on
lotta guys like a completely flat rta....I like mine like yours is...just a little more grunt in the sub bass for that fun factor
Are you liking everything? What's your impressions of your system as a whole?

Thanks but I can't rally take credit... Pretty much all the ms-8. That lil ******* is pretty impressive. That RTA is also before the Dyns, I been lovin the strong mid bass too much to recalibrate.

I'm really loving the imaging and stage. I've never had anything like that before. To be able to almost pin point where an instrument is on the stage is crazy to me. My only complaint now is that after the dyns, the voices seem a little muffled in the music and top end is being over powered. My tweets are seeing about 10 watts while everything is seeing 100. So there's quite a misbalance that I'll be addressing soon

Little update for yuzz.....
I got around to installing my Arc Audio KS1200.1 last week.
I was super excited to finally send a solid 600 watts to each Arc Black 12 (wired parallel)
As soon as we powered up, we were getting a short circuit code from the amp.
My friend thought maybe the protection circuit probably needed to be re-calibrated by Arc so we were thinking the amp needed to be sent off to Arc (bought amp used from a good DIYMA member) but it had been months since I bought it so I was not going to pester the seller at this point.
WELL, i left my friends place with one Black 12 wired up (1200 watts) because the amp did not short circuit with one sub wired....just when two subs were wired up....
Long story short, I tested the driver's side sub solo the other night just to make sure both subs were functioning ok....I got the short circuit signal from my amp again so I guess my driver's side Black is no good anymore.....I have only blown one sub in my life so this makes two now....I don't know what happened but it's toasted....

With that being said....I need to make a decision on what to do with my sub stage.
good news is hopefully my 1200.1 is ok...bad news is one of my Blacks is dead...
Do I simply replace the Black (love these subs....great sq, digs really deep, very musical, kinda boring to look at lol
Iam really leaning towards the IDMAX15 wired up to 1200 watts....I think it would please my output needs, and be very musical as well....it's getting awesome reviews...BUT it aint cheap either.
I was also looking at the JBL GTI 15 mkII....that is a proven sub, but man it is so deep, heavy and looks like a nuclear war head...
What to do....
