Whenever I stream music through my phone one bluetooth, the audio quality is much worse than when I use and auxiliary cable. What is the stream rate on the Uconnect 5.0 and is there a way to increase it or fix it? I really would like to use bluetooth more instead of hassling with cables. For phone calls the quality is fine, but with music the sound is weak. Almost like its forcing itself to play. Theres a noticeable weakness to it.

Any way to fix this?

I too notice a decrease in sound quality when using BT. From what I have read on here the antenna is pretty cheap and this may be the root of the problem with no fix. But I am not 100% sure, I would like to see some more light shed on this subject as well..

I have an after market pioneer double din and blutooth SQ is worse,as well as any other head unit ive owned, than any other method . I have found this to be the case with any bluetooth streamed music on any kind of device. So what I have concluded, from my experience, is that blutooth may limit the "information" it sends and receives or it may just get lost in the transfer therefore making the SQ worse. So its not just your head unit. I havent researched but im not sure if theres anything you can do about

I have the same issue. I even tested a 2014 uconnect 5 and it sounds like ****. Wife just bought a 2014 jeep Cherokee with uconnect 8.4 or whatever and it sounds flawless. Ice hooked up abluetooth streamer to aux port and it sounds fine. These 5.0 are **** and I'm kind of passed about it cause its one feature I was really wanting in my truck.

I highly doubt Dodge is going to do anything about it either. I'm going to ***** again when I go up to dealer but they will just want to check for another upgrade as always, kinda passing me off.

I updated to iOS 8 and have a noticeable improvement in BT audio streaming. I haven't had a chance to compare it to USB yet but I was very surprised today on the way home from work.

Yeah, definitely the 5.0, the 8.4 in the jeep sounds great. Haven't tried iOS8 but I really don't' think it'll matter. Will post back if it does.

I have 5.0, 130S system and Bluetooth media quality is garbage. There's terrible static and high frequency background noise.

This is just the nature of bluetooth and the compression it uses. The newer the bluetooth version the better the compression but you are limited to the version of the weakest device. Still, no matter how new the version, discerning ears can tell a difference.

This has nothing to do with Bluetooth version and bandwidth. I already said I can plug in a OLDER Bluetooth streaming device to my aux port and stream to it and it sounds almost as good as a direct aux cable. The problem is these 5.0 radio's are ******** and dodge should be ashamed for even putting the feature in the radio. It is just utter garbage quality and it's 100% the radio itself, the one saying it sounds fine, you need to crank it up with something with some high's and then do a aux cable and you will notice the difference. if you can't then something wrong with your hearing :p.

you know I wouldn't be as pissed about this is the actual USB cable worked for streaming too. I tried it in a new dodge truck with 5.0. Guess what? it POPS every few seconds because it picks up the cell signal in the phone through the cable for whatever reason, tried different cables and everything. So basically I'm stuck to just aux port on this crap radio. Yup pissed off customer, cause I was expecting these features and would have gotten a 8.4 if I knew it wasn't as advertised.

Experiencing the same issues on my 5.0, everything except for satellite radio sounds like crap with static and interference. I cant even get a clear FM radio signal without some sort of static and I'm using my stock antenna. Audio quality is even poor using the USB cable from my phone. All this seemed to happen after dealer did all their recall flashes to radio and RF module.
