I just got back from driving in the rain for a while, making sure my 3rd brake light mod was doing good. When i got home wanted to see what water was splashed up from the few puddles i ran through. All looked ok until i looked behind the battery. There is a large connector ( black with a grey lock similar to the pcm lock) in between the battery and the firewall. THIS WAS SOAKING WET!!! Now i'm not experiencing and issues yet, but certainly this can't be good. So my fix will be to wrap this in some kind of plastic and secure and i may try to pull it toward the battery some and strap it. The leak is coming directly from above said connector where the hood closes on the weather stripping. The weatherstripping is poorly done, two different pieces and two different types meet here and allow water to pour in.

Just thought this may prevent a lot of possible electrical gremlins. So all check this out.

I would like that, i did the best i could to put it in the right place. I looked back and found one other person who seemed to have and issue with this same connector getting wet. It was Transmitterguy.

What about pulling the connector, filling with dielectric grease, and reinstalling? If everything is full of grease, water cannot get inside.

The seal on mine seems to work pretty good, my hood has black on it where it’s mashing down. It’s raining right now so I’ll check again later.

The grease is a good suggestion, but i had already started of my other plan, but will probably do the grease also. Time will tell now.

Just checked mine, it was bone dry until I opened the hood fully, then water ran down hood and dripped inside

Got back from a ride in a storm now i see the passenger side is doing the same thing on another huge connector and a couple of drops on the pcm which may be the ac line right above it sweating.
