power locking tailgate

so has anyone ever wired a power lock cylinoid to their tailgate? i just put a bed cover on and took a long trip (1000miles there and 1000miles back) with the family and had all our gear in the back, well long story short if you need in the back you had to have the key. I am going to be looking in to this in the next few weeks to do soon. If any one has any suggestion or ideas on this pleas feel free to chime in on this, this is far out of my zone but most of this is but i do it anyways..
