I've looked all over for this hose. The dealer has also looked. Part Number 68031850AG or 68031850AH... Any ideas? Can one be custom fabricated?

Might be able to get away with marine grade fuel line?

Edit: somebody chime in if fuel lines are a no no with power steering.

Marine grade A1 fuel line must be made of some material only found mining on Mars since it so expensive (I know, replaced it all on my boat).

The 2 hour fire rating A1 is not needed on a road vehicle and way overkill. Any oil resistant hose will work on the no pressure return. The supply line must be high pressure rated and oil resistant..

If i am not mistaken, fuel line hose is made extra sturdy, it can withstand suction, without collapsing, but are they large enough in diameter ?

Summit reports part is unavailable

Google Search brings up these possibilities

  • Genuine:

RockAuto is out of stock

If you have the damaged part in your possession

these people deal with Hydraulic Hoses & fittings

call https://www.omniservices.com/store-locations/
there are several locations in New York

another Hose company

I used to operate heavy equipment, Back Hoes, Motor Graders, Skip & Front Loaders, etc. blows a line
Sooner or later equipment Hydraulic lines blow, both pressurized and non pressurized.

With heavy equipment, you can't go to the local HOSE Pros, so they drive out to the construction site & make a new hose onsite.
I meant to type this up about 8 hours ago, but my nurse made me get back to bed & sleep.

Good Luck

Thanks, I also have had hydraulic lines made for tractors and my backhoe. The guys that normally do that (Nx Wxx Hydraulic) won't because the "heat" possible from the pressure side line on the power steering, and possible liability from a failure. I think its a cop-out, my tractor and backhoe hydraulics get plenty hot when really working them. Anyway, I think the Omniservices.com will be the next stop, once I have the hoses in hand.

I also had the part numbers a little wrong, they are 68031850AI and 68229251AA. Even though some web sights will lead you to believe they have the hoses and allow you to put them in a cart thinking "Finally found them", when I called to double check I got: They are on back order... Another bust! I may have possibly located them in a Canadian parts store, but of course they would not ship international.

What an incredible PITA!
