So, I've been toying with this idea I've been having.

Thinking about getting a 2017 Ram Power Wagon..

I'm thinking doing a Thuren 1.5" front and rear overlander kit
Getting some new wheels and tires
bedliner and bakflip cover

For starters.

I've been doing some research on it and it seems like everyone is getting about 10mpg?? Is this right?!?!?!

My fathers 2016 is getting 15-16 mpg. Hes 80% highway and drives the speed limit to the digit. He has about 40k miles on it so far and thats hand calculated.

Power wagons are big heavy trucks with 4.56 gears and a 6.4 HEMI. Gas mileage will certainly suffer.

First off you will love the 2017 PW. Also Thuren Fabrication's products are always a great option. In my 17 PW I get 12-13 around town but my truck is still breaking in.

Also just to clarify on a post in this thread the 2017 PW has the 6.4 with 4.10 gears.

My diesel is getting around that in the city. So I guess that is what I want to hear.

I don't really look at MPG too much when I get a truck, I'm expecting it to be bad, but 10mpg is bad.. haha

I wanted to go test drive the above truck today, but just went to their site and they no longer have it listed. Damn it.

They have 2 more, but wanted that red... they do have another red one but it's got the Ram Box and I don't think I want that..

Personally I like the ram box, had two trucks with it now. All your crap like jumper cables, washer fluid, emergency kit etc, can go in there and won't take up room inside the truck. Sure it does protrude into the box but just about as far as the wheel wells would go. The divider is really useful as well.

Love my 2" Thuren front suspension. A great choice for sure.

I'm happy to get 11-12 mpg in a 2016 PW. Interstate, city it doesn't matter.

power wagons dont have 4.56's any more.

i average about 12-13 mpg mixed and i have a heavy foot. long trips ive done about 15-16. mileage is better then i was expecting to be honest. im sure once the stock 33's wear out and i go a bit bigger its going to take a hit but we shall see.
