I put one of these gems on , Gotta say they are what they say they are. I was surprised and sorry I Didn't do this sooner. You have to cut , strip and crimp the Iat sensor wire, (either one I am told, I used the the one closest to me..) On a scale of difficulty scale; 1 being the easiest ,I give this a 1. The hardest part was getting up the nerve to cut the wire........lol. It increases hp and mpg's if you keep your foot out of the floorboard.
it may look like the power wire is coming out of the hose..it isn't...that is an optical illusion. It's 1 wire connected, trust me.

Yes, They are completely soldered, an end crimped. They are the real deal in mod's.

What were the specs on the resistor for wattage. I read online its an avg 8-10 HP gain. And it could also help the timing as the intake sees cooler air, would that be possibly guys?

Bill, that is the IAT sensor. O2 sensors are located in the exhaust system. Either wire can have the resistor added. The IAT is a temerature sensitive sensor that changes value as the temperature changes. By adding resistance to the signal it is siganlling the PCM that the inlet air is cooler than what is actually is and the PCM signals the fuel system to richen a little. Off the top of my head I am going to say 4.7k ohms. But it has been a while and that value needs to be comfirmed before using.

correct. when i made my wire my iat drop by 20* on the ************* hyperpac

Also, it has been mentioned that when using a CAI the IAT nolonger is fitted into a locking socket as it is now just pushed into a rubber goumet. Note the oreintation of the bulb as having it installed incorrectly has cause some surging.

Bill, what is the actual value of the resistor 4.7 ohm or 4.7k ohm?

Alright cool, thanks for those specs. I also plan on doing a line boost mod for transmission, you add a 15 watt resistor.

no no no A 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt will work fine.

I read on another forum, a user using a 2.2k resistor and then trying a 15 watt resistor. The 2.2k resistor gave the end user firmer shifts, while the 15 watt gave fast shifts.

Oh that maybe so, but Thats for the tranny not the Cai set up, (that this mod is for) sorry......

Just adding it in here, it is dealing with the same thing. "power wire" could be anything. Not to be rude, just saying.

Gotcha, Thanks for the input. I actually wanted a little more umphf, Aafter I added the 34's.......hence the power wire mod, I'm happy with the results. But It's still a 4x4, how fast do I need to go?? But this mod will help in the muck and mire. I would imagine.

I still need a tranny flush, but that said she had quite a bit of get up and go!1 But I also refreshed my pcm as well. During the install I pulled my #31 fuse, then disconnected the positive side of the battery, then hard grounded the terminal too the frame. All in all I felt the difference.

ok allow me , there is a sensor that measures air temp, it's before the throttle body. That has 2 wires leading from that. Take a simple wire; put a resistor soldered in the middle of it. Lost yet? Then you cut one of the wires and attach the male/female connectors. It works by fooling the pcm into delivering more fuel too compensate for the alledged cooler air temps entering the motor. (of course the air temps are still normal.)
