I bought my 17 big Horn 2500 ctd in Sept last year, brand new had been sitting on the lot. MSRP was $60500, I got it for $46500. I searched Nationwide and flew down to Oklahoma from Maine to get it.

seat covers will take care of the dirty seat probs..He thought about the Tradesman but he spends about 6-8 hours a day in it and thinks having more creature comforts would be nice. He also sometimes has to transport a worker and they can be pretty dirty so leather seats would be nice for cleaning but he also understands even a Hemi with leather will be pricey so he might have to settle for cloth and get a seat cover.
I bought mine from a used car dealer with just under 8000 miles. That same dealer has an identical truck in a different color with 12,000 miles for $40k. He might call about that one. He called his bank last night to get pre-approved to see what he can get. In the past year he has bought a house, his camper, and his fiancees 2019 Crosstrek, plus he has student loans so he isn't sure if he can even get a decent rate. Add to that they are getting married in 3 months and they are spending quite a bit on that. So he is waiting until he hears back from them to make a decision.
Specifically what he wants is the full console. He needs that for all of his stuff that he carries. He found a 2016 2500 Cummins with 20,000 miles for $46k. Sounds like a pretty good deal but they don't have a link to the Carfax on their site so I told him to tell them that he wants to see that.
And he got his pre-approval so good to go there.
This was a 6.4L, not a CTD. $53k for a CTD Laramie would have been a steal around here. My son was looking at a 2018 Big Horn Sport package CTD a couple weeks ago and the best they would go was $58k (Wally Armour in Alliance Ohio). The Laramie 6.4 was at Ron Lewis in Cranberry Twp, PAKbb indicates 2018 2500 CTD avg used at 47 to 50k, 26k miles.
New, no miles at 53k initially seems somewhat reasonable given full warranty and new. However the minute you drive off the lot it's a 2 yr old used truck that will as a trade in would be worth 47 to 50 with an add on for low miles.
50k seems like a reasonable target price.
