I'm still trying to figure out the blue craze...........

I guess once you've seen the difference in output, you'll never go to a "blue"......

Get a nice projector, color mod it, and you'll have the best of both worlds. Blue/purple cuttoff and a nice pure white light output.

I went with the 6k bulb that has a hint of blue and love it on the white truck. Looks sharp and factory since a lot of the factory hid on vehicles nowadays seem to have a hint of blue.

The hint of blue is just the cutoff line and the optics. I have 5000k hids and I get the "cool" blue at my cutoff line but elsewhere I get awesome white blanket of light like your suppose too.

You dont want blue unless you are a ricer...

You cant she **** with blue hids..

I have 10,000K HIDs in my truck and I can see everything just fine. And just for the record.... my truck doesn't have a grain of rice in it!

While you say you can see everything just fine, the guy next to you with 4300K (3100+ lumen) HID will see much better.

To each his own, but advocating ricer lights (technically, they're show-car lights which many ricers attend but I'll digress) isn't something I'd personally recommend. Again, I'm not knocking your decisions at all (different strokes for different folks), but the highest K rating HID bulb I would personally recommend would be 5000K.

PS: Chromaticity diagrams don't lie.

Note the 12000K in the lower left portion of the chromagraph, indicating black light usage. You don't really SEE blacklight. Your 10000K bulbs are not far off from this, and put out the same lumens as a halogen bulb. Kinda defeats the purpose of having to upgrade to HID from halogen, if you ask me. :)

I like my 6k bulbs but I wouldn't go any higher than 6k if given the option.

To each their own, but blue headlights just scream "trashy" in my opinion. There's a reason why luxury vehicles have pure white headlights and not smurf blue. They look better and provide better visibility.

Everybody's entitled to their opinion. My 10,000k bulbs put out clearer and brighter light than halogens, IMO, especially on snowy nights. That's cool if you don't like them. My 10k's are not blue but have a blueish tint to them, similar to what you see on luxury European cars. IDK, maybe areas are different but the rice wagons in my neck of the woods typically have purple or green or some other obnoxious color headlights.

I'm not arguing the scientific mumbo jumbo of lumens and what not... because honestly I don't care about it. I use what I like. And like I said before, with my 10k's I can see everything just fine.... and better than halogens. You might be able to, but I can.

There's nothing trashy about my truck.... maybe you guys that think the bulbs look trashy are just too old to get it...idk. Maybe you guys need to attend car shows that have other cars than ricers at them....idk... maybe you should venture off this forum and see what's out in the world and not just take someone's opinion for it as fact.....idk

And since I'm on my phone and I don't have smileys. ..... RANT OFF!

to each their own bro.
everyone has their own opinions... and then there are the facts

btw, the bluish tint you see from the luxury European cars is the cutoff from the projectors, which appear blue from a distance...but actually emit a pure white color for visibility. I wont get into the basics of projectors for times sake.

its a universal opinion that 10k bulbs on our trucks are a no-no. but hey, its your truck

No need to get defensive. I clearly stated that you're entitled to do as you choose. I merely said I wouldn't recommend it, and backed up my opinion with fact so people would not get the wrong idea by my post. No harm, no foul.

For the record, I don't know you, nor do you know me. Let's not assume "we're too old to get it" or "we need to get out more". Face value sure is an awful thing to judge anyone by.

Have a good evening.
