what bulbs will work with these? will some sort of harness be necessary?

whats the best plug-n-play option for me if i get those headlights?

i want reliability as i dont want flickering issues or any problems with whatever setup i go with. reliability is an absolute must.

Yes, you will need a harness. I would get in touch with Jermey from RetroShop as he will explain everything you will need.

Gotcha

I’ve read through a few posts of people having issues even with the adapter harness

I just want to make sure I’m getting the right bulbs, harness and everything I’m going to need to have a reliable setup.

So if I get:
TYC projector housings
Retroshop harness

what bulbs do I need?

And with those three I should have a troublefree combo?

I may be mistaken here, but I ran a set of those TYC projectors on one of my previous truck (great replica of the OEM projectors by the way) and if my memory serves me right, they used the same bulbs as the factory projectors do.

It’s a big harness with multiple resistors, a capacitor, control relay, ballasts, and starters. It’s a very high quality piece and they stand behind their warranty, I had my entire thing replaced for free, no questions asked when I accidentally put the relay is a position to get some water in it and corroded a terminal. I wouldn’t call that a “rip off” by any means

what bulbs do I need?

Order the projector housings and take delivery. Then once in hand validate the bulbs before ordering the HID kit. I would also suggest Jeremy at RetroShop. You can order the HID kit with the required bulbs (my aftermarket projectors needed an H7, which was not an option on Jeremy's site, but after talking to him he told me what to do to get what I needed), and the halogen to projector adapters V2.

Some of these projector housings use different bulbs, so it would be better to make sure you get what you actually need.
